Phonics bingo is one of the many variants of bingo game that can be used as a material for teaching children in school. It teaches young children how to read by learning how to connect the sounds with the letters being called out by the teacher. For example, the teacher would ask the students to find a word that has a pin, and the students would then mark the word spin. Another variation is the blending bingo where in the teacher reads a particular world very slowly. For example, "sss-ppp-iii-nnn", the students would then look for the word that the teacher mentioned.
Phonics bingo shows that the bingo game is not always referred as a form of gambling. It can also be used as an educational tool that can greatly help young children to improve not only their vocabulary but also their analytical mind. It serves as a means to improve classroom activities and make learning more exciting and fun.
